Wine Tasting Notes

WHITE

Da Vero Catarrato
This delightful Sicilian wine is bright and fruity, with appealing aromas of citrus – and it is vegan and organic too

Last Stand Chardonnay
An elegant, easy drinking wine, showing lifted fruit character, textural mouth-feel, a bright palate and a long and foodie finish.

Bella Modella Pinot Grigio
Gentle aromatics and a lively palate, the hints of honey and almonds are given interest by delicate herbal notes, and the refreshing acidity makes it incredibly moreish.

Aotearoa Sauvignon Blanc
Classic Marlborough Sauvignon – bags of gooseberry fruit and a zippy acidity.

Florensac Picpoul de Pinet
Grown in the Carmague region of southern France, on the salt marshes that border the Mediterranean. Brilliant minerality and a clean, crisp finish.

Domaine La Motte Chablis
Classic white Burgundy from a top grower, 100% Chardonnay with a nice flinty texture – no oak aging here.

Domaine du Pre Semele Sancerre
From the heart of the Loire Valley, this Sauvignon has a beautiful saline minerality and a racy, zippy acidity.

RED

Morenito Garnacha
Ripe plummy fruit and a little peppery spice from one of Spain’s signature grape varieties.

Last Stand Shiraz
Bright, aromatic and juicy on the nose – a tiny proportion of Malbec is added in this blend giving a flowery perfume.

Bellefontaine Merlot
A classic, soft and approachable French Merlot, with dark red cherries and red plum fruit, complemented by a little herbaceous character on the finish.

Blue Horn Malbec
There’s nothing quite so in demand as Malbec at the moment. From the mountains of Mendoza comes this rich, vibrant, super-supple red – perfect with our steak selection!

De Alto Rioja
With hints of spice and red fruits on the nose, de Alto is beautifully balanced and offers layers of red berry fruits on the palate, laced with vanilla and hints of mocha and liquorice.

Le Fou Pinot Noir
Le Fou translates as “The Madman”, as it was long thought madness to try and produce Pinot Noir as far south in France as this winery does. Numerous awards later tell you they succeeded but open a bottle and decide for yourselves! A luscious, textural Pinot Noir displaying very intense, sweet berry fruit.

Torri D’Oro Primitivo
From the heel of Italy comes this dark, brooding red with a complex bouquet of spices and ripe fruits scents. Powerful structure with a soft sweetness and a finish that goes on for ever.

ROSE

Hilmar Springs Zinfandel Rose
Medium sweet rose – think strawberries and cream in a glass!

Bella Modella Pinot Rose
This delicate dry rosé has deliciously strawberry laced aromas followed by a seductive palate of crisp, juicy, creamy fruit.

Chateau Routas Provence Rose
Classic Provencal rose – pale salmon colour, bone dry and super elegant.
