A Recipe for Love
Valentine’s Day is a traditional time of the year for showing that ‘special someone’ in your life just how much they mean to you.
For many, this could mean exchanging gifts, spending a romantic night away together (or spending a cosy night in for that matter) and of course – enjoying a beautiful candle-lit dinner with their significant other.
For those who are looking to treat their lover to a romantic home-cooked meal for two this Valentine’s Day – but aren’t quite sure what to include on the menu, our Executive Head Chef, Adam may just be able to help.
In a bid to offer some culinary assistance to those hoping to seduce their loved one through great food, Adam has listed his Top 10 Sensual Foods for Valentine’s Day…
“It’s cliche but oysters are an aphrodisiac, and very sensual. My favourite are pacific oysters from the Menai straits.”
“British asparagus is the best in the world and there’s a six week window late spring to get your hands on the best! Asparagus gets no better than cooked to order and served with a velvety hollandaise.”
“Farmed Caviar has come a very long way, making this delicacy more accessible and giving the traditional wild variety a run for its money in terms of taste and flavour profile. It gets my vote.”
“Champagne is very food friendly and perfect at just about any time! My favourite at the moment is Camille Saves Carte Blanche premier grand cru, a firm favourite in our Eyrie bar.”
5. Fried Chicken
“Sometimes nothing is better than getting your fingers dirty with authentic street food, and our legendary JFC is just the ticket.”
6. Perl Wen Cheese
“Perl Wen is an incredibly creamy Welsh Brie style cheese which we bake and serve as a sharing appetiser. The texture is pure heaven.”
“Shellfish has to be the sexiest food to eat. We are currently preparing our Menai mussels in an aromatic coconut broth.”
“A perfectly grilled steak is timeless. I can’t think of anything better to share than a Welsh tomahawk steak on Valentine’s Day, though my wife Dili usually has to wait until 11pm until I’ve looked after all our guests!”
9. Panna cotta
“There is something infinitely seductive about a soft creamy panna cotta with a little wobble. I’m serving mine with a blushing rhubarb compote this Valentine’s Day.”
“No sensual meal is complete without chocolate! Whether it’s our signature chocolate sphere, performing its melting reveal in front of your eyes or our freshly cooked cinnamon churros with chilli spiked chocolate to share, we’ve got you covered.”
